Vice President, Business Development 


Our client is a fast-growing business that provides high-value, turn-key management of the Amazon channel for consumer goods companies.  This company’s world-class team and expertise helps companies achieve more profitable results on the Amazon platform with less operational strain, risk, and distraction.   


For this newly created role we are seeking a seasoned business development pro or senior sales executive who can quickly connect with key C-level decision makers, effectively communicate the company’s value proposition and close new business relationships.    


The successful individual would be responsible for developing, managing, and closing a pipeline of business with high value, enthusiast consumer goods categories.  Key elements of this role include: 


Client Sourcing 

  • Identify and vet prospective clients through personal and extended network relationships 
  • Develop cold target lists and build relationships 
  • Develop and execute digital acquisition strategy 
  • Attend and speak at Amazon and industry events 

Proposal Management 

  • Navigate targets through proposal process 
  • Assemble and lead proposal teams 
  • Develop pitch materials 
  • Develop format proposals 
  • Move proposals to contract 

Contract-to-Close Management 

  • Draft contracts 
  • Negotiate contracts 
  • Manage client from signed contract through on-boarding 

Pipeline Management 

  • Maintain pipeline details within pipeline management tool 
  • Set and measure pipeline health metrics 
  • Lead pipeline updates with leadership 

Team Management 

  • Build out and manage team of industry advisors and other third-party lead generators 
  • Build out sales team as required by business needs 

Tool Management 

  • Own CRM tool 
  • Build out light-touch sales operations processes and tools 
  • Build and evolve reusable sales materials 


Key Skills and Experience  

  • Amazon and/or Amazon Agency experience  
  • Comfort and confidence working with C-Level individuals
  • Executive presence 
  • Strong communication skills – written / PowerPoint + verbal 
  • Strong negotiation skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to close 
  • Attention to detail and follow-through 
  • 7+ years of sales experience 
  • Services sales experience 
  • Ability to travel 
  • Ability to work remotely
